I know - what's May Day without a bit of goose-stepping in Red Square? May Ist does not register at all here in Americaland (it's probably prohibited under The Patriot Act now) but there is a bit of a knees-up on Cinco de Mayo.
the commas are coming ralph..then it'll be the semi colons and before you know it
!!
Dear Arabella,
May Day was only declared a public holiday here because, if it hadn't been, we would officially have been classed as cotton field slaves! We have fewer public holidays than anyone in Europe!
I used to love watching them run out the tanks in Red Square. One day, I thought, they will come over here and kill Thatcher! Ok, I would have to eat potatoes for the rest of my life and do whatever I was told but that ain't a fat lot different from the way things are at the moment - and they do make nice furry hats!
May your opiate of the masses go with you.
